David Nixon Magic - Mirror Box

It's unclear as to the effect of this trick and whether or not it is complete.  

It is a mirror box with a tube attached, within which is a small ball which can fill the hole in the side of the box and appearing to be the sun when viewed from above.  

Outer box is worn and item itself is in very good condition.
