EFFECT: A cricket bat is shown to your audience and the three holes in the bat shown. It is made clear that the holes penetrate right through the bat by turning the bat over. To demonstrate this a wooden plug is placed in the middle hole and it is shown that the plug goes right through the centre hole on both sides by again simply turning the bat over. Now the magic begins. You say the magic words and suddenly, in front of their eyes the plug jumps from the centre hole to an outside hole.
You show that this position is the same on both sides, demonstrating the impossible - the plug has jumped from the centre to the outside. You again say the magic words and miraculously the plug jumps back to the centre hole. This is again shown on both sides. You can continue to take out the plug and place it where you like and on your word of command it jumps in full view to another position.
